What is a Retrofit Lead Professional?
A Retrofit Lead Professional (RLP) is responsible for overseeing the entire retrofit project from start to finish. Acting as the project manager, the RLP ensures that every stage of the project is delivered in line with PAS 2038 requirements and meets the intended outcomes for the building and its occupants.
The RLP coordinates all key roles within the retrofit process. This includes managing the Retrofit Lead Assessor (RLA), as well as working closely with the Retrofit Designer and Retrofit Installer to ensure a consistent and compliant approach throughout.
Their responsibilities include:
- Providing overall project leadership and direction
- Ensuring all retrofit activities are properly planned, managed and executed
- Overseeing risk assessment and ensuring appropriate measures are in place
- Maintaining compliance with PAS 2038 standards
- Acting as the primary decision-maker and point of responsibility for the project

Although, we don’t have a stand-alone Retrofit Lead Professional Training course, you can build upon your current qualifications and competencies to become competent in this area.
We are also working on an upskill course for those already working in industry with core knowledge in this area. This will be released in due course.

- Proof of identity,
- Certificate of all relevant Qualification,
- Proof of additional insurance cover (VALUE TBC).
Once you submit your application, the Elmhurst accreditation team will process it and get in touch if any information is missing.
One your application is processed, you will receive a welcome email with login instructions to the Elmhurst members area; this will provide you with access to our online software, welcome packs and relevant guidance documents.
