Elmhurst’s ABBE qualification course in Non-Domestic Energy Assessment is a fantastic opportunity for those completely new to the world of energy assessment, to become fully qualified to produce Energy Performance Certificates for commercial buildings.

You’ll learn how to use the Simplified Building Energy Modelling (SBEM) software to undertake energy calculations and produce commercial Energy Performance certificates for existing and new build Level 3 & 4 commercial buildings.

This non-domestic qualification course is delivered live online by industry experts with real, practical experience over a period of 5 days. You’ll learn by a combination of presentation slides, activities, discussion and virtual building walkthroughs; delivered at a pace to suit all individuals.

This course is fully remote so you can study from the comfort of your own home or the office and you’ll receive full technical and portfolio support throughout the duration of the course.

  • Methods of Construction for Buildings
  • Building Services Systems
  • Data Entry into the SBEM Software
  • Advisory Report and Recommendations
  • Developing a sound understanding of the Building Regulations and knowledge of thermal insulation products
  • Detailed calculation of U-values
  • Developing a more comprehensive understanding of Building Services
  • Producing a calculation from plans and a specification, then processing the data in the SBEM software
  • Open and edit Microsoft Word documents

Following this course you will be required to complete a portfolio of evidence that meets the ABBE awarding body requirements. Once this has been completed you will be awarded with the ABBE Level 4 Diploma for Non-Domestic Energy Assessment, and will be eligible to join Elmhurst’s NDEA Accreditation scheme.

Please note that as part of the course you are provided with access to software for training purposes only, the software cannot be used for commercial purposes.
