Elmhurst’s Damp and Mould Assessor training course builds your competency to assess and report on damp, mould and condensation (DMC) across social housing and the private rented sector. With Awaab’s Law driving greater scrutiny and faster action, you’ll be equipped to expand your service offering with clear, evidence-based reporting.

Delivered live online, the course develops the practical skills to diagnose DMC in domestic properties and produce professional Damp and Mould reports using Elmhurst’s exclusive reporting software. Designed for qualified Domestic Energy Assessors (DEAs) and Retrofit Assessors, it builds on existing competency to meet growing legislative and market demand.

The course includes three live online modules led by Elmhurst’s expert trainers, with opportunities for questions and real-time feedback. You’ll complete a 30-minute competency test at the end to confirm your understanding, and on successful completion you’ll be eligible to join Elmhurst’s Damp and Mould Assessor Competency Scheme.

Module 3 provides a guided walkthrough of the dwelling assessment process, showing how inputs are completed and how to interpret results in practice using Elmhurst’s purpose built Damp and Mould Reporting Software.

At the end of the course, you’ll complete a 30-minute, multiple-choice competency assessment to confirm your understanding of the  content. The test is taken live during the session.
