Hollen Plus - Freelance Non-Domestic Energy Assessor

HollenPlus is a London-based, chartered surveyor-led decarbonisation, sustainability, and ESG consultancy. We deliver technical retrofits, MEES compliance, and energy assessments for institutional commercial real estate owners and asset managers across the UK. We’re looking for a Freelance Non-Domestic Energy Assessor (Level 3 & 4 Minimum, Level 5 Advantageous).

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced freelance Non-Domestic Energy Assessor (NDEA) to lead a key portfolio of commercial EPC renewals across the UK. This is an initial 2–3 month contract with strong potential for ongoing project work.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough on-site energy audits and inspections across a nationwide commercial portfolio.
• Gather detailed empirical building data to minimise reliance on software defaults and secure accurate, optimised energy ratings.
• Produce and lodge Level 3 and Level 4 EPCs (Level 5 DSM modelling capability is a distinct advantage).
• Coordinate closely with our London team to deliver clear outputs.

Requirements

• Accreditation as a Non-Domestic Energy Assessor (Level 3 & 4 required; Level 5 capability advantageous)
• Active accreditation scheme membership (Elmhurst accreditation preferred).
• Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle for site visits nationwide.
• Strong attention to detail, proactive communication, and commitment to quality data collection.
• Experience assessing varied commercial property types (office, industrial, retail).
