MHCLG issues ‘Future Buildings Standard consultation' for non-domestic buildings and existing homes

MHCLG has issued a new ‘Future Buildings Standard consultation’ which builds on the Future Homes Standard by setting out energy and ventilation standards for non-domestic buildings (L2), existing homes (L1b) and to mitigate against overheating in residential buildings and also some extra questions on outcomes generated from the previous consultation. Scottish Government confirms delay to PRS Energy Efficiency Regulations

Elmhurst has received confirmation that the Energy Efficiency (Domestic Private Rented Property) Regulations in Scotland will be delayed in light of the ongoing situation with Covid-19. In December, the Scottish Government provided a brief update regarding the regulations which highlighted their intentions to introduce them in April 2021. Extend the stamp duty holiday now

Lenders should have a role in building a market for energy performance improvements

11 December 2020

Elmhurst has issued it draft response to the government's 'Improving home energy performance through lenders' consultation, and agrees that lenders should have an active role in building a market for energy performance improvements. The consultation proposes that lenders of mortgaged properties would be required to disclose the average EPC performance of the properties on their mortgage portfolio and encourage them to sign up to a voluntary target of meeting a portfolio average of EPC Band
