Elmhurst Energy Releases New ‘Introduction to Building Information Modelling (BIM) Course’
Elmhurst Energy has recently released a new training course providing an introduction to Building Information Modelling (BIM). The course is designed to raise awareness of BIM and its implications on the construction industry relating to Building Energy Design and Management.
For those who are unsure of what BIM is, it is a process of generating a 3D design of a complete building with all its features and characteristics within a computer application; the aim is to help all parties to plan, design, construct, and operate the building to best effect.
Why Building Information Modelling?
BIM uses modern day technology to bring together all parties to effectively collaborate throughout all stages in construction.
BIM will allow Building Stakeholders to visualise design ideas and identify risks before they happen on site. Not only will this reduce delays and cost overruns, but it will also help close the gap between design and as-built performance.
Overall this will mean a more efficient, intelligent and cost effective construction process through the use of computer aided design and industry collaboration.
About the training
Our new one day training course highlights the medium and long term opportunities that BIM can bring to professional practices for building energy specialists, and covers the following areas:
- What is BIM
- Elmhurst and BIM
- BIM impact
- Issues, barriers and solutions
- The future of BIM
- Case studies
- The energy assessment industry
For DEAs, NDEAs, OCDEAs, Architects, Engineers, Contractors and others involved in the Construction Industry, this is an ideal opportunity to get ahead of the competition and to expand your knowledge of an important process found within the construction industry.
