Thermography Training
Elmhurst has partnered with iRed to deliver a three day Thermal imaging for Buildings training course. Those who attend this course will acquire the skills and knowledge to deliver thermal imaging heat loss inspections for domestic properties and commercial buildings.
About Thermal Imaging Inspectors
Qualified Inspectors will have the skills and knowledge to thermally inspect and assess dwellings and commercial buildings against a pass/fail criteria, but they aren't permitted to carry out in-depth analysis of images. Using a quantitative procedure they will present the thermal condition of a building envelope to clients (as either pass, fail or refer) using traffic light indicators for effective visual impact.
About Thermal Imaging and Building Surveys
Infrared Thermography or thermal imaging surveys are commonly used to assess the integrity of building fabric in order to diagnose problem areas and potentially reduce energy costs/emissions. By using infrared thermal imaging technology, qualified Thermographers can quickly identify areas of missing or damaged insulation, and air leakage (heat loss) for an existing and new build property (during and after construction). In addition to this, thermal imaging is often cited as the best and only non-intrusive method of checking insulation.
Why become a Thermography Inspector?
Infrared thermography is regularly requested by property owners and contractors to check build quality and establish the root of any thermal anomalies/defects which could result in unwanted heat loss. More and more building specifications are including thermographic surveys within their schedules as a means of quality assuring a property.
As a qualified Thermography Inspector you can conduct these thermographic surveys to check the continuity and performance of insulation within a building.
Thermal Imaging for Buildings Training - delivered by iREDCourse Content: This three day ABBE qualification course is suitable for all energy assessors, and professionals working within the Built Environment. A breakdown of each day can be found below: Day 1 • Basics of Infrared Thermography Day 2• Building Fabric Applications Day 3• Image Tuning Delegates will need to submit one report to iRed for assessment before receiving their ABBE certification. The report can either be completed and submitted in the afternoon of Day 3, or can be submitted within a year of finishing the course. Upon completion you will be eligible to join the Elmhurst's Thermography scheme. Cost£995.00 (plus VAT) About iREDiRed Academy is one of the UK’s leading providers of accredited thermal imaging training in infrared thermography. Their courses are specifically tailored to support the professional development of both newcomers to industry and delegates with more experience. In operation since 2002, iRed has always used the newest techniques, technologies and industry practices to deliver thermal analysis solutions to clients throughout the UK and around the world. |
