MHCLG change name to DLUHC

Share

In an unprecedented turn of events, the Ministry of Housing, Communities, and Local Government (MHCLG) has changed its name to the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities (DLUHC).

Michael Gove has also been appointed the new secretary of State, effective from mid September, replacing Robert Jenrick.

The change follows the Prime Minister’s recent cabinet reshuffle, where Michael Gove was appointed the new secretary of state, replacing his predecessor, Robert Jenrick. The change in name sees reference to ‘local government’ dropped, and reflects the increased importance that the Government is placing on ‘levelling up’.

The Prime Minister has said that: “The Government is committed to uniting and levelling up every part of the UK”.

Michael Gove has said: “I’m thrilled that the PM has asked me to lead the Levelling Up agenda, the defining mission of this government. We have a unique opportunity to make a real difference to people’s lives”.

Elmhurst Energy will continue working with BEIS and DLUHC to ensure that energy efficiency is recognised in homes and businesses throughout the UK.
