Elmhurst’s APEL On Construction Domestic Energy Assessor (OCDEA) course is available for individuals who already have experience in the construction, buildings and/or energy assessment industry, who want to upskill to produce SAP Calculations and Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) for new build dwellings.

Assessment of new build dwellings is one of the more advanced areas of energy assessment. This 2-day fast-track course provides a great route into the world of New Build energy assessment, whether you’re an architect, builder, or related industry professional. During the course you will learn how to use SAP software to assess the energy efficiency of new build homes, and, if necessary, select appropriate building services, green technologies and fabric alterations to ensure a building will meet compliance.

Our professional and friendly training is delivered at a pace to suit all individuals and ensures those who attend leave feeling confident about putting what they’ve learned into practice.

Please note: The APEL application form will be emailed across to you once payment for this course has been processed. Please ensure the APEL application form is completed and returned at least 7-days, before the training starts.  If you do not wish to be accredited please contact Elmhurst Energy prior to booking the training.

Following completion of this course and short assessment, you will have demonstrated that you have met the standards of the Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning (APEL) for On Construction Domestic Energy Assessment. Following this you will be able to join Elmhurst’s OCDEA Accreditation scheme, and produce legally valid new build EPCs.
