Element Sustainability Ltd. is a successful, well-established provider of technical compliance and sustainability assessment services to the construction and development industry. We have an exciting opportunity for a domestic energy assessor to join our expanding consultant team.

 

Role Summary:Β 

Your role will focus on the delivery of the technical elements of our project work providing building compliance services to the construction sector with various residential and commercial projects. Working as an On Construction Energy Assessor (OCDEA) you will;
βœ“ Undertake

  • SAP assessments and calculations
  • Overheating and water efficiency calculations
  • U value calculations

βœ“ Deliver technical support to clients
βœ“ Generate energy statements and reports for planning
βœ“ Demonstrate organisational skills and deliver clients reports in a timely manner

To be considered for this Energy Assessor role you will have;
βœ“ SAP (OCDEA) qualifications and experience
βœ“ Relevant industry experience and knowledge of regulatory frameworks
βœ“ Experience of energy modelling software – Elmhurst Design SAP
βœ“ Excellent communication skills

Key Skills:Β 

βœ“ Energy assessments (SAP, Part L and low/ zero carbon strategy)
βœ“ Reporting (both for planning and technical)
βœ“ End-to-end management of client engagement and projects
βœ“ Assist the client in achieving compliance with building regulations, planning policy and sustainability-compliance targets
βœ“ Determine appropriate methodologies and compliance strategies
βœ“ Input to, compilation / review / quality assurance of technical reports and output
βœ“ Report to the team leader and complete administrative and accounting tasks
βœ“ Engage with and manage clients to identify service opportunities.

Requirements:Β 

βœ“ A team player, highly organised, motivated and self-disciplined
βœ“ Experience and appreciation of working in a collaborative working environment
βœ“ Qualified, with demonstrable experience in this sector
βœ“ Commercial awareness of Building Regulations, planning process and construction industry – working knowledge of UK environmental regulatory framework, technical appraisals, compliance targets and sustainability assessment criteria
βœ“ Good numeracy skills
βœ“ Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal

Education, Qualifications & Experience:Β 

βœ“ Minimum 2 years industry experience
βœ“ Educated to a minimum of degree level (or equivalent) in a related discipline.
βœ“ Ideally professionally qualified through relevant professional body (IEMA, CIBSE, LCC etc.)

Computer Skills
βœ“ Experience of residential energy modelling software (Design SAP)
βœ“ Computer literate with MS Office skills

Additional Requirements
βœ“ Full driving licence with less than 3 points
βœ“ Willingness to travel
