1.5 Hour CPD

Description

A heat pump is a device for transferring energy in the form of useful heat from one place to another. The technology is not new but until recently hasn’t been widely adopted in domestic (or indeed commercial) space heating. It is now a major focus of government, and part of the Net Zero Plan to reduce carbon emissions by 2050. But how to they work and what is important to consider when selecting them for a heating system upgrade? This Understanding Heat Pumps course is designed to be undertaken as CPD (Continuing Professional Development). This course would ideally suit all energy assessors  who want to learn more about this growing form of heating system.

The CPD learning objectives are detailed below and the following slides are arranged in the format of:

– Context

– Challenges

– Understanding the technology behind heat pumps

– Understanding the different type of heat pumps

– Understanding how heat pump efficiency is measured

– Understanding what grants and subsidies are available

– Identify who the key suppliers are in the UK

A short quiz is located at the end of the module that will help you to test your understanding of how to select heat pumps.
