Introducing SBEM 5.2 in Wales

We have recently received the transitional arrangements for version 4.1.e and version 5.2.d of SBEM for Part L compliance and Energy Performance Certificates in Wales. The arrangements follow the revisions to Part L that come into effect from 31st July 2014. The transitional provisions in the Building Regulations require that applications submitted under Part L 2010 prior to 31 July 2014, will be able to continue to progress through to completion using SBEM  4.1.e,

The Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS) is a mandatory energy assessment and energy saving identification scheme for large undertakings (and their corporate groups). The scheme applies throughout the UK.  Once in effect, ESOS is set to mandate energy audits for over 9000 UK businesses (i.e. large organisations with more than 250 employees or a turnover in excess of €50M and balance sheet assets greater than €43m).  This is particularly good news for Display Energy Certificate


DECC: Green Deal Home Improvement Fund close applications

Due to overwhelming popular demand, the Green Deal Home Improvement Fund is closed for applications with immediate effect. A surge in applications over the last two days means the allocated budget has now been reached. All applications received prior to the fund closing that satisfy the terms and conditions and meet the eligibility criteria will be honoured at the original rates. Green Deal Home Improvement Fund Update

DECC: Government responds to the Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme
