Welsh Government issues response to the Stage 2A Consultation
Back in November 2020, Welsh Government launched the Stage 2A Consultation proposing changes to Part L and F for Existing Dwellings, new Overheating regulations and changes to Part L for Non Domestic Buildings. The responses to this have now been published and confirm the some of the details for the next versions of Part F, L and S of the Building Regulations.
Just some of the headlines:
Stuart Fairlie – Managing Director at Elmhurst:
“We are delighted to see the response to the Stage 2A consultation published. Our first observations are that with the reduction of the transition period to one year the Welsh Government are intent on delivering really meaningful new standards as quickly as possible. Certainly it is very much aligned with our official response. We fully support the meaningful step towards 2025. We must all work together to ensure that the timelines are achievable for all stakeholders. It looks like 2022 will be a very busy and exciting year for our members.”
New Consultation launched
Welsh Government have at the same time issued a new ‘Stage 2B consultation’ which builds on the previous consultations by setting out energy and ventilation standards for non-domestic buildings (F and L Volume 2), and also some extra questions on the new Overheating regulations for new domestic buildings. The consultation closes on 17th January 2022 and can be viewed here.
