Consultation on Display Energy Certificates in public buildings
Elmhurst Energy would like to draw your attention to a new public consultation on the Display Energy Certificate (DEC) regime for public buildings. The consultationwill run for four weeks from 11 February 2015. Read more here.
The consultation is considering ways in which the current DEC regime may be modified in ways to reduce costs to the public sector, it also looks at ways to clarify which buildings should comply with the requirement for DECs and enhance the ability of the relevant bodies to enforce compliance.
The consultation is in two parts.
Part one considers ways to improve compliance with and enforcement of requirements for the issue and display of energy certificates in public buildings.
Part two considers how the current DEC process could be modified to reduce the burden of compliance whilst providing an effective tool to encourage public sector energy efficiency.
A number of the proposals will cause concern for Energy Assessors and Elmhurst strongly encourages you take time to read and comment on this important document.
Elmhurst will be responding, both as a stakeholder and via its trade association PEPA.
