Since Monday 22nd July, various government departments have really emptied their in-trays. In what appears to be a clear the decks before the new Prime Minister is announced (expected shortly), as well as ahead of the summer recess.
The Government departments have been very busy of late with a wide variety of consultations, papers and news covering everything from Environment (recycling rules,) to health (prevention in 2020s), to energy (nuclear funding) to carbon capture, to fuel poverty the list goes on and on.
As always Elmhurst will respond on behalf of our members to those that impact energy efficiency of buildings in the UK.
Stuart Fairlie Technical & Operations Director “The latest slice of news, papers and consultations is always expected at this time of year, getting them out before summer recess and have deadlines back into the autumn is normal business; but as we all know we do live in very unusually political times, and ahead of today’s announcement on our new PM, these will certainly go under the radar. We will review the relevant papers and consultations and liaise with our 1,000s of members to ensure that energy efficiency remains central part of the solution towards our clean growth strategy.”
