Elmhurst work with LABC to promote Part L Compliance

On Wednesday 31st October, our On Construction Support Team Leader Jason Hewins delivered a training module using worked examples at LABC’s residential training week on the requirements of Part L and the process of SAP assessments.

This involved discussing the requirements of Criterion 1-5 of AD L1A, the importance of On Construction Domestic Energy Assessors and what to look for on SAP assessment reports that complemented the complete module commissioned by LABC for their Level 5 Diploma.

Elmhurst was delighted to be given the opportunity to work with LABC to help train future surveyors within local authority building control.

LABC Head of Guidance Dave Ewing said ‘By working with Industry Experts such as Elmhurst we can offer our officers a much better learning experience and Jason’s contribution has been excellent’. Elmhurst believe it is vital that building control service providers understand and enforce the requirements of Part L thoroughly to ensure new dwellings are built in accordance with the regulations and to help close the performance gap between SAP assessments and actual dwelling performance.

Elmhurst will be looking for further opportunities to provide guidance to industry on the requirements of Part L and SAP in the future.
