Elmhurst invests in online training for members
Over the past few months Elmhurst has invested heavily in online training to ensure members still have access to high quality courses.
The health and wellbeing of our members has always been our number one priority, so when it became clear in mid-March that face-to-face training could no longer continue, the team quickly leapt into action!
Online training was the obvious way forward; we already had a catalogue of online courses that were available to members, but most were between 20 and 30 minutes long and did not include our full day CPD or qualification courses. We therefore took the decision to invest in an online training platform that would allow us to upload all of our CPD and accreditation courses - with the ability to still provide live training via webcam.
We're really pleased with how our members have responded to the platform, who we've worked with to create new courses and build upon our existing materials. For many, online training means more time to engage with training from their own homes, where childcare, transport and accommodation is not an issue.
How to access online training
You can purchase our range of courses from the Marketplace. Live qualification courses are featured on the training calendar. We have also provided free CPD courses for members, ranging from 15-20 minutes long.
Once you have bought a course from Elmhurst Marketplace, you will receive a link to that course. You can then watch and rewatch as many times as you like within a 30-day period.
The future
Well, the future is hard to predict. Who could have said we'd be where we are now at the start of the year? But we certainly anticpate that online training offering will work alongside classroom based learning in the future.
Elmhurst Training Manager, Mitesh Nathwani
"We’re really pleased to see the success of our online training platform and how members have responded to it. There’s been a lot of hard work that’s gone on behind the scenes to create these online CPD and qualification courses – many based on members’ requests – and we’ve received excellent feedback as a result!"
