Elmhurst delivers highly anticipated talk for DCHI
Last week we were pleased to deliver a talk for the Devon and Cornwall Housing Inspectors Association (DCHI) where our colleague Fiona Wilson gave a detailed industry update to a packed room of assessors in Exeter.
The topics discussed included PAS 2035, the RdSAP 9.94 update and Elmhurst Risk Solutions- the new insurance provision available for members. The session produced a lot of good questions and there were some insightful conversations and debates that took place, which we were happy to facilitate.
The recent release of PAS 2035 has provided a wealth of opportunities for assessors, particularly in the domestic sector, but it is also fair to say that in an industry that has seen a lot of change within the past 10 years, there has been understandable scepticism from some.
PAS 2035 is the overarching document in the retrofit standards framework which came into effect in June of this year. The aim of PAS 2035 is to improve the quality of retrofit work for domestic properties, whereby only those who are part of a recognised Trust Mark approved scheme are able to operate under the ‘Quality Mark’.
Throughout the interactive session we took questions from a cross section of local assessors where Fiona Wilson was able to lend her expertise and demonstrate how certain issues translate at a local level.
Fiona Wilson comments: “It was great to meet with the team from DCHI and their members. It was even better to have such an engaged group present to present to and talk with and I look forward to working with them going forward.”
We thoroughly enjoyed meeting with DCHI members and plans are already in place to deliver more such training in the coming months.
