Elmhurst brings peace of mind for its members and their clients

We have just updated our free insurance cover for accredited members.

Trained and qualified energy assessors who are accredited with a government approved accreditation scheme would typically have to arrange Professional Indemnity (PI) and Public Liability (PL) insurance in order to cover the work they do as an energy assessor.

However, all Elmhurst accredited members do not need to spend time or money arranging often expensive third party PI and PL insurance to lodge reports and certificates, this is included free of charge when certificates are lodged with Elmhurst Energy, and from July 2018 the cover has been increased to £10m; the sum often demanded by public sector clients.

We have also gone one step further and now automatically cover members for 'verbal, non binding' energy efficiency advice, giving members peace of mind when helping to explain to building owners the meaning of data and recommendations included in the energy certificate

“Our enhanced insurance offering means Elmhurst’s members are covered and so are their clients,” explains Martyn Reed, Managing Director of Elmhurst Energy. “It really does provide peace of mind for the assessor and reaffirms why building owners, from householders and estate agents to facilities managers, should be looking out and choosing from our 7,000 strong membership.”
