Welcome NHER Members

Following the acquisition of the National Home Energy Rating (NHER) energy assessment scheme from National Energy Services Ltd (NES), we would like to extend a warm welcome to all NHER members.

This new venture will aim to combine the best of NHER and the best of Elmhurst to create one great new scheme. We look forward to delivering quality services and making the transition as seamless as possible to maintain the high standards of service for members in the future.


About Elmhurst Energy

Elmhurst Energy is one of the most popular accreditation schemes for energy assessors across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, with over 6,000 members. The company is well known for its quality, innovation and integrity. With the continuous development of our software, our SAP and RdSAP products are now considered amongst the leading technical software in the Energy Rating industry. 

Elmhurst Energy and NHER have much in common in terms of size, pedigree and reputation. In fact it was Elmhurst Energy, and the team at NHER that co-developed the RdSAP energy rating methodology back in 2003; which was the foundation of the EPC and many other energy efficiency initiatives. This cooperation between the two schemes continued throughout all releases of RdSAP, with both Elmhurst and NHER regularly involved with the amendments and changes to the EPC and RdSAP methodology.


Benefits to NHER Members

Although commercially this is being called an 'acquisition', both parties prefer to see this change as more as a merger which combines the benefits of both schemes.

Members of NHER and Elmhurst will benefit from;

Elmhurst and NES have spent several months planning for the transition with the aim to make change, only where change will benefit Members, and at a pace that minimises risk.


What do you need to do?

In the short term, your service through NHER will continue as before and there is no need for you to take any action. However, you should look out for more information from us over the coming weeks as we share the key dates and actions for the transition of the two schemes.

Although it may take some time to get everything up and running, the FAQ page below will provide NHER Members with useful information which will help those affected get to grips with the changes and the transition timeframes.
