SAP 2009 Demo Software From Elmhurst

SAP Specialists Elmhurst Energy Systems Ltd has been providing SAP software since the introduction of SAP in 1995. Elmhurst is now renowned as the leading provider of SAP software within the construction industry. The Elmhurst accreditation scheme has over 550 fully accredited on construction energy assessors (OCDEAs) active across the UK, lodging on average over 10,000 new build Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) per month. During 2008 Elmhurst partnered with LABC (Local Authority Building Control) becoming a preferred business partner. This has resulted in Elmhurst Energy working closely with Building Control to ensure that Elmhurst software is the most accurate and up-to-date for Building Control Officers and the wider construction industry.

Overview of Part L Legislation

Elmhurst Energy’s Commercial Services Manager, Mr Richard Smith, talks about Elmhurst’s objectives in aiming to provide new SAP software, based on the new Part L legislation, to the industry for October 2010.

“Part L Conservation of Fuel and Power is the Government preferred method of achieving zero carbon homes for 2016. The Part L legislation has recently been under consultation and is a move forward in achieving the aims for zero carbon in 2016. The new Part L replaces the Part L 2006 legislation.

Due to industry wide difficulties with the release of Part L 2006, including; unrealistic time frames for delivery, poor information dissemination and lack of available technical information, Elmhurst Energy will ensure that their demo version of the SAP 2009 software and accompanying training options will be available as early as May 2010, in preparation for full implementation of the new Part L in October 2010.”

Elmhurst SAP 2009 Software

Elmhurst SAP 2009 demo software will be available for free download during May 2010, and can be accessed industry wide via the Elmhurst Energy website www.elmhurstenergy.co.uk The software will provide an indicative guidance for Criteria 1 (DER & TER) for Part L 2010 and allows users to fully appreciate innovative technologies and renewable energy sources that can be applied to housing schemes by developers to provide an indication of the energy efficiency of projects to be built under the 2010 Part L Regulations.

The demo version of the software will be replaced later in the year with a final version. The final version of the SAP software will be fully approved and fully functional and implemented by October 2010. The Elmhurst software will become a useful tool for architects and developers for specifying pending projects post October 2010, as the calculations provide energy solutions to meet the required standards in order to achieve compliance with the new Regulations.

Elmhurst’s new SAP software will also include additional new non mandatory updates, with the aim of improving the current functionality with added reports for Code for Sustainable Homes (CSH) compliance and a dedicated calculation process for over-glazed extensions.

One of the major advantages of the current version of Elmhurst SAP Software is the built in U value calculator which has proven itself as a market leader within the industry for both simplicity and capability. The new software will also incorporate the U value calculator functionality, but the product database will be updated in line with the most current data supplied by manufacturers.

Elmhurst Part L 2010 Training Seminars

In addition to the early release of the Elmhurst Energy demo SAP software, Elmhurst is also launching a series of technical seminars. The seminars are designed to explore the new Regulations and how they will impact on the construction industry, as well as covering the changes to the new SAP software. The seminars are available not only to Elmhurst accredited assessors but also the wider industry. Details of the seminars will be available via the Elmhurst website during May 2010.
