Elmhurst Energy, Award Winning Accreditation Body Launch Inventory Scheme
Elmhurst Energy, leading energy assessor accreditation body and recent award winners at the Property Professional Show 2010, have announced the latest addition to their outstanding product portfolio - the ‘Elmhurst Inventory Scheme’.
Established in 1993, Elmhurst’s expertise in the energy rating sector for high quality EPCs has naturally lead them to develop associated products and services. Elmhurst understand that a detailed inventory has always been best practice, however, with the introduction of tenancy deposit schemes, an inventory of contents and a schedule of the condition of the property, both at the start and end of the tenancy has become crucial. Without this documentation, dispute resolution becomes difficult. The tenancy deposit scheme companies are now realising the value in having reliable and good quality inventory reports.
The Elmhurst Inventory Scheme provides a quality standard to the production of inventories for tenanted properties. A certified inventory issued through the Elmhurst Scheme can be relied upon as having been produced by a qualified and insured inventory provider. All Elmhurst Inventory Providers (EIPs) work to a code of practice and have their work monitored.
Elmhurst ensures that all EIPs are trained as part of a comprehensive programme, and a partnership with the Association of Professional Inventory Providers (APIP), allows all EIPs to hold the APIP qualification as part of the Elmhurst Inventory Scheme.
The Elmhurst Scheme guarantees that all inventories follow the Association of Residential Letting Agents/Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (ARLA/RICS) standards, however, Elmhurst take a flexible approach in how the actual Inventory Report is produced, offering its members much more freedom to work in a manner that suits them compared to other competitor schemes.
In addition to Elmhurst’s flexible approach, it also provides a central online portal for uploading and storing completed inventories, ensuring all reports are stored safely, covered by insurance and can be monitored for quality.
Overall, the fresh approach to inventories via the Elmhurst Scheme provides real benefits for inventory providers as it offers; training, a qualification, ongoing support from a designated support team, per click insurance for both Professional Indemnity and Public Liability insurance and an on-line portal for safe storage.
Elmhurst is running their Inventory training programme throughout 2010, for further details regarding the Elmhurst Inventory Scheme and Elmhurst full product portfolio, please click here.
