Elmhurst Launch SBEM Level 4 Practical Survey Day
Elmhurst Energy was interested to read that the number of new build EPCs in England and Wales issued in Q2 of 2015 was up 28% on the previous year, reflecting a more buoyant housing market. We are also pleased to see that the average CO2 emissions (tonnes p/a) in the same period reduced from 1.61 to 1.5 tonnes p/a, an improvement of 7%.
This is a direct response by builders and developers to achieve regulatory compliance and therefore it is disappointing that the government has backed away from its 2016 commitment to require zero carbon homes (read more here). Elmhurst is lobbying to ensure that minimum performance levels continue to be set in such a way that motivates the industry to produce fuel efficient homes.
