RICS launch a route for members to qualify as a Domestic Energy Assessor
The CLG (previously DCLG) has now established the entry standards for domestic energy assessor (DEA) accreditation. All DEAs must as a basic requirement, meet the National Occupational Standards but Government wants to see flexibility in how this is achieved.
This route involves the potential DEA demonstrating to an accreditation scheme that they meet the competencies set out in the relevant National Occupational Standards for Domestic Energy Assessments and have met the scheme’s approval process. This is also known as approved prior experience and learning (APEL). This route however is not possible at the moment as there are no approved

Whilst this proposal has not yet received approval RICS is now accepting registrations from members who wish to qualify as Domestic Energy Assessors; as a pre-requisite they require evidence of adequate RdSAP training.
