Streamline SAP (3-in-1)
The new Streamline(3 in 1) SAP is separated into 3 individual sections with all information contained in one database. Streamline remains the central hub of the software with the Wizard and Full SAP sections as optional extra facilities.
These three different but inter-linked systems (procedures) can all be used for energy rating a dwelling. The Streamline SAP is a simplified version of Elmhurst Design SAP which requires a high level of data input and is intended primarily for new build. The new Full SAP is a replica of the Design SAP entry fields but has a button facility to enable the user to convert the Streamline data instantly into a more detailed level of data entry. This enables the user greater flexibility on specific property improvements and also greater accuracy if necessary on peculiar or unusual properties. Which system to use depends upon time constraints and accuracy of information available.
The Wizard enables the user to input a limited amount of data collected via a tick sheet, without the need for the measure. With this simple tick sheet approach the data can either be collected by the user or via a mail-shot to the property occupants. Once the data is processed in Wizard can then automatically be converted into Streamline, giving access to all the facilities contained in the Streamline software.
The Full SAP can either be accessed independently within the software or automatically from Streamline with the use of a 'fast path' button transferring the survey data on screen into a more detailed Full SAP version. The Full SAP allows greater flexibility for individual improvements to more obscure and unusual property types.
The Streamline SAP (relying on less data collection than the Full SAP) uses defaults derived from Elmhurst's vast database of Full surveys and the new Full SAP feature now allows access to these defaults for the user to make amendments as necessary. The Streamline system was the first quick system approved by the BRE as being able to deliver accurate SAP. Couple this with an easy to complete site survey form and it becomes apparent why Streamline SAP is the market leading system. Follow the three screens below to see how information is entered for a typical semi detached house:
STREAMLINE
Streamline (3 in 1) SAP with Report Maker operates in Windows with an inclusive database created in Access. It is written in Delphi and deals with single dwellings or energy auditing of housing stock. A feature of the software is it ability to export the information into other databases via Access and the user has full access to the database at all times. An Input and Results Sheet is produced for each individual property, which sets down the SAP and recommendations for improvements, and this is expanded into a 3 page Home Energy Rating Report for issue to the property occupier. Testing 'What If' improvements is also available for any property in the database.
Report Maker is written in Crystal and produces more than 20 predetermined reports and statistics as well as a selection criteria facility against various fields in the database to produce 'localised' reports to the users requirements, for example,
- Areas by postcode
- Inefficient energy measures
- List of properties with old electric heating systems
- SAP lists of worst to best
New in the software are 2 styles of template reports that enable user to produce report on their stock position, current and twelve months prior, to show the amount of improvement over the previous twelve month, for example,
- CO2 emmisions
- Annual energy consumption
- Energy Cost Factor
It is also possible to produce general reports or details of individual properties with overall totals etc. Accurate information on all or selected properties can be produced demonstrating energy consumption, running costs, CO2, average SAP, average C.I., as well as for example, quantified areas of walls and roofs requiring insulation.
Another new feature in the software are built in optional questions which allow the user to record additional information relating to the occupants within the household, for example,
- Number, age & persons in work within the household
- Property tenure & energy performacnce by tenure
- Motivation for improving property
These new questions are available through Wizard and Streamline and also contain a section of custom questions, which allows the user to insert their own bespoke questions within the software if necessary. In short the system delivers the total package required by local authorities for H.I.P., H.E.C.A. and other circumstances requiring real energy related and SAP information. Elmhurst Strealine SAP enables the user to have in one database the technical knowledge to develop a Total Housing Energy Management Plan.
